According to a needs assessment conducted by the Homelessness Partnership ( D. Morrison, 'Extent, nature and causes of Homelessness in Glasgow' Aug. 2003) at any one time there are at least 4,000 people likely to be homeless. Emmaus Glasgow aims to be a user led initiative and to this end long before we opened as a community we conducted extensive research interviewing 97 homeless people in Glasgow. Their views were taken into account in the subsequent planning and development of the community.
